The Weekly Money Rhythm to Keep Your Business on Track
Published on November 25, 2025
Stay on track with a simple weekly money rhythm. Review income, expenses, and profit in minutes to reduce stress, gain clarity, and build a business that supports your life.

Small businesses exist because people, like you,  are creative, skilled, talented and gifted. You think outside of the box and see hope in things being different than the normal. I love that.

Small businesses succeed because of those very things AND one more vital part…having rhythms and systems to organize the numbers and financial side of the business. No amount of talent can overcome ignoring the numbers.

Business built into Intentional Life > Life built around our Business

I honestly hate the hustle culture! The lie that says ‘success’ comes when we put work ahead of everything else, determined to make enough money to be able to relax one day, yet that day seems to never arrive?

I believe life is so much more than that. Part may be my age and experience, but I fully believe that a true success is a person who lives a purposeful and fulfilling life, not only identified by the business they build. I want to help you build a business that fits into your life, not a life that is built around always working the business. When work is the first priority, we can become frantic and reactive when the economy or life ebbs and flows. And we all know that usually does not end well.

But what if we flipped business on its head?!  Starting  with an intentional purpose and vision for the LIFE we hope to live, and then built a business that fits this criteria? That is what I want us all to realize:

Business built into Intentional Life > Life built around our Business

3 EASY STEPS- WEEKLY MONEY RHYTHM

#1- Income Review- This is money you received for sales or services this week

What came in? Was it expected or unexpected? Celebrate the wins!

#2- Expense Review- This is money you spent for the business

What was paid out? What surprises you? What was wasteful vs necessary?

#3- Record + Reconcile

  • 10-15 minute commitment. Set the timer. This is not a time for shame, just clarity and smart business building.
  • Record your income. Record your expenses. This will give you your profit for the week.
  • INCOME – EXPENSES = GROSS PROFIT

What You Will Gain:

When you commit to that few minutes each week, you will be removing so much anxiety from your brain and shoulders. You will not have the dread or fear of what will happen at tax time, you will know if your business is making money or if the expenses are racking up beyond your income. You will be saved from the business drifting backwards even though you are working so hard because you will see it weekly and monthly. You will realize in real time what worked and what didn’t, saving you valuable time to work on the profitable areas.

You will no longer feel incapable when it comes to building your business, because you are now conquering the overwhelm that once caused you shame and avoidance. You will be winning like you never imagined you could!

Action Steps:  What to Do Each Week Checklist

  • #1- Look up your business checking account
  • #2- Record all income from sales and services
  • #3- Record all payments you made from account (also add any you paid cash for)
  • #4- Income – Expenses= Profit –  Highlight your Profit (or Loss)
  • #5- Review what upcoming expenses you have next week and prepare for those.

REFLECTION: Build in a 5 minute silent reflection as part of your weekly review. Reminding yourself that this is building a life, not only a business.

Rhythm creates space. Space creates clarity. Clarity creates purpose.
